Hello, All!

Congratulations! Thank to all of your hard work we have successfully transitioned out of our old forum and into the DPS Insider. Our membership is now more than the old forum ever was so I feel it is time to release those much sought after profiles.

I would also like to give big props and 1X10^20 Super Giga Nano Geek Points out to Josh Wilmont and Aaron Cholewa (Strmtrper6) for figuring out the Microsoft Tag clues that I left on the site. Your t-shirts are in the mail! The trick was to click on my face on any of my posts and you would see it. You could have also contacted Vanguard92 as I gave the clue to him as well. It was all in my new year email. Thanks for playing, folks!

As always, use these at your own risk. Any one of these profiles may or may not sound better than one of the Universal Profiles. Please feel free to discuss your results here at the forum. As of now, no more profiles will be made for the KD-S100. The next DPS application for car audio is right around the corner so stay tuned!

OK, I have tried the stock profile for my Caliber SXT, and WOW!!! The difference, even over the VAR_03 option is so amazing. With the VAR_03, the clarity was there, but it was almost as if the gain was set a bit too high for the stock speakers. Hey, that happens, and it still sounded great. Once I loaded the Caliber profile, however, the difference was truly like night and day. All the sounds as well as the staging just fell right into place, and every piece of music I played sounded so good, that I could not help but giggle like a giddy little schoolgirl and repeatedly saying, "That's f**king awesome!" My next door neighbors must really think I have problems!! It was a truly gratifying experience, and I also want to say that I have not regretted this radio for one single instant. I am now a dedicated Bongiovi consumer. Anything you produce that I am able to buy, rest assured I will be buying it. I kind of wish I had a Mac for the DPS plug in. You never know, that may be my next investment. I do know several Mac owners I will be suggesting the plug-in to, though.

I really did want to thank you all for making something that can be quite frustrating, such as tuning a radio, and turning it into a one-step process. This really does rival my 98 Civic's sound system, which includes a 600 Watt amp for the speakers, a 12 inch sub and 300 Watt amp, and a 7 Band Parametric Equalizer. It took me several years to accumulate the parts for the Civic's sound system, and since the Caliber will predominantly my wife's car(aka "The Family Truckster"), being able to avoid the time, money, and frustration that was involved in creating my system part by part over years of time, as well as having to maintain it and troubleshoot any problems.

You guys have created a lifetime customer in me, and I will shout your praises from the rooftops!!

The stock "07 Silverado profile sounds great in my '99 Silverado. The only thing I don't like is the gain seems a little low but hey it sounds much better. I am pleased that this profile fixed my staging all together (discussed my staging a lot in the old forum). However, I recently found a s100 for my wifes '99 civic and have been burning and trying a lot of profiles in it. My question is will it hurt to burn the profiles on CD-RW's so I don't waste/use so many CDs?

It can't hurt to try a CD-RW as we use them to listen to mixes on that radio all the time. Just be sure to erase it properly every time you put a new profile on it. Let me know if it works!

I've got a question, once the basic tuning profile is installed, how do I install the S2000 one. I push and hold the Bongiovi button and display, but nothing happens, only the time comes up. Any help would be great. Thanks

The unit must be OFF first. Use the volume button to turn off the unit. When you bress the B button and DISP the unit will turn ON and enter download mode. After loading the profile, be sure to turn the unit OFF and ON again before inserting any music CDs.

I tried that, but it wont enter the download mode. Could it be because the initial tune is already installed?

Hmmm. I've tried it a few times on my KD-S100 with no problems. Here is my exact procedure:

1) turn on the car (aux power is ok)
2) wait for the radio to turn on completely
3) turn off just the radio by pressing the volume knob
4) hold down the "B" button and then press "disp" while still holding down the "B" button
5) the unit should turn on in "DL MODE"
6) insert your profile disk.
7) the radio will automatically read the profile.
8) eject the disk
9) power off the unit with the volume knob
10) power the unit back on and you should be good to go.

let me know where the problem lies so we can get this working!

I love my JVC KDS100 and am currently using VAR03 profile. I checked the list of custom profiles, but there are none listed for Dodge Caravan or similar vehicle.

Could anyone maybe suggest one of the custom profiles which may be close to a Dodge Grand caravan?

Any help is appreciated.

Actually you are probably using the best one of the VAR profiles. After that I'd try the Hyundai Tuscon or some other larger body car from the custom list. Try a few and let us know what you pick!
