    Hey Joey,

Thanks to you, your colleagues, and all the folks on this forum for working through the Lion issues :-) Can't wait to get that great DPS sound back!

The new beta / install package today got me further than anything to date (yeah!) but, like some others (most recently kenchand503), I'm running up against the same issue [http://dpsplugin.com/error.php?error=1] - i.e., timing out after the demo period and not recognizing my previous activation... email: kevin.rice@ns.sympatico.ca

Thanks again for an awesome plug-in and your continued efforts to get it 'lionized' :-)

Thanks for the help today, folks. I'll leave you guys with one last build that addresses a permissions issue caused during installation:
    http://avalonrecords.com/Pub/DPS_itunes_1-4_beta_installer2.zip

Be sure to quit iTunes before installation!

Our web guy is aware of the activation issue and will have it resolved shortly. Keep in mind the error=1 URL is a bad email or password. The error=2 issue is on our end and is worked around by me resetting your activation license. I'll be getting to your activations as soon as possible. Prob tomorrow. Time to put the kids to bed...

Joey, thank you for the insight and updates as you and your team work through the Lion issues.

I too enjoyed some success with today's beta / install package. The plugin seemed to work terrifically up until the demo expired and I entered my activation information (e-mail: hmoth84@gmail.com). I'm directed to the following error page: http://dpsplugin.com/error.php?error=2.

Thank you again for working to resolve this issue; look forward to future updates.

Edit - Just saw your recent posting, Joey. Thanks for the information!

    Hey All!

Okay, here is a solution to the activation problem.

    1. Reinstall DPS 1.3 if it is not already installed
    2. Activate as usual, if not already activated
    3. DEACTIVATE the DPS 1.3 license
    4. Download and install DPS 1.4 Beta 2 (Posted above by Joey)
    5. Activate as normal

    6. ENJOY! :)

    Hi Joey,

I assume you were replying to me when you said that my account looks good. I checked and double-checked my password, and it's the same one I was using before with 1.3 (have it saved in 1Password so it hasn't changed since I got the activation.)

As per above, I uninstalled the beta, reinstalled 1.3, opened iTunes in 32bit mode, and tried to activate using that password. No va. It's unresponsive, which I suppose points back to the networking issue we were seeing before.

So, how can I deactivate DPS in order to follow the Beta 2 instructions provided if I can't get Lion to connect?
Could you just reset the activations I have (should have two) ?

    Thanks,
    Maxim

    Maxim,

Actually I did deactivate your computers. Since there were some permissions issues with the first beta from yesterday you may need to correct them by following these steps:

    1) Quit iTunes
    2) Un-install DPS using the uninstaller in the 1.3 dmg file.
    3) Install 1.4 beta2: http://avalonrecords.com/Pub/DPS_itunes_1-4_beta_installer2.zip
    4) Allow iTunes to open in 64bit by unchecking the "Open in 32bit mode" box in the info screen for iTunes.
    5) Launch iTunes and try to activate.

If you get an error in the browser and the URL ends in ...error=1 then you have typed your email or password incorrectly. If you have trouble re-setting your password at http://store.dpsplugin.com just email me and I'll send you one.

    Troops,

I will be keeping the most current instructions and known issues with beta builds here: http://www.dpsplugin.com/help/doku.php?id=itunes_10.4_beta_fix

Once we get the activation server issue resolved we might have this thing licked! If you haven't already please follow the instructions in the above link and really try to break it. Our programmer just received another version of iTea from Rogue Amoeba yesterday that was included in this build so there may be some unknowns.

    Joey,

The new keys I received today seem to have solved my problems, as I just activated one of my computers. Everything works as it should!

    Wow! We did it!

Here is a link to the new dmg file: http://avalonrecords.com/Pub/BongioviAcousticsDPSv1_4.dmg

As before, if you get the ...error=2 URL just send me an email at support@bmtdps.com. I will send out the mass email once I'm sure everything is in order with our activation server.

I've got some DPS t-shirts here for those of you who posted on this forum and stuck with us through our brutal birth into 64bit. Email me your address and shirt size. I'm pretty sure I have enough to go around.

Is this one the definitive plugin?

After deactivating version 1.3, I've been using version 1.4 beta for the past couple of days and boy did I missed it!

Works perfectly with my iTunes 10.4.1 in 64bit mode under Lion 10.7.1, thanks!!!

Yep, definitive! Any upgrade activation glitches are server related and we are cleaning those up now. Of course we may have missed something so let me know if anything strange happens with this new version. On to Mac SW beta!

    Hello,
Thank you for the final release version 1.4 that works. Still missing in Digital Power Preference , then "Select Headphone and speakers you ..." then " Desktop Speakers " the choice we had before with the version for Leopard. I have only Amsterdam, London , Miami , Paris and New York Speakers . Is this normal?

    Joey,

I also do not regret for a minute my purchase of this great product and I await patiently for it to be compatible with Lion, I would not use anything else, this is far superior to anything out there.........

So if I follow everything here and the previous page, this is the current beta that is working?

"Here is a link to the new dmg file: http://avalonrecords.com/Pub/BongioviAcousticsDPSv1_4.dmg"

And you just download this and reinstall over the original build/file that was working before iTunes went 64 bit, is this correct?

I'd appreciate a confirmation to the above from someone here smarter then I, please?

If my statement above is not correct, please be precise and tell me exactly what needs to be done to get the DPS plugin working with 64 bit again?

    Thanks guys,

    Joey Butera,

Took the plunge myself, the DPSv1_4.dmg installed correctly, I guess it overwrote what was there previously prior to iTunes going to 64 bit, however, when I proceed to activate, I get the error you mentioned which indicates a server error on your end regarding activation?

    This is the error: http://dpsplugin.com/error.php?error=2

Please help, and what do I do after you work on your end, I guess I try and re-activate?

    Nuke

PS: As you indicated, I will also send a separate email regarding this server activation error I received for a reset?

    Joey,

At the moment all I can say is, OMG! The amazing sound of the DPS plugin is back!! It has been a long and I'm sure grueling time on your end. I have played with some of the betas and I just installed 1.4, it was smooth and easy and it worked without a hitch and the sound is amazing. The only issue is activation. I have logged in and checked my license and it says 1.3 is activated.

bnmguy, thank you for your assistance.

    Hey Joey,
The install went fine for me however I too receive the error=2 issue when trying to activate the plugin. If you could reset my activation that would be great - email collins.a.paul@gmail.com.

I have been impressed with the communication through the software re-engineering process and keep up the great work!

I Couldn't find your email address so hopefully you will see this posting.

    Thanks

Install went without any problem, but I too have the "error=2" code issue and cannot activate. I followed all the instructions (to include uninstall of ver 1.3 prior to install of 1.4). Please reset my activation!!!!!!! (2 emails sent without response) so I am hoping you will see this post. Thanks for all your efforts and patience with those of us who can't live without DPS :)

Hi. I installed the new download from the website but the server activation error comes up. When I try to get back to 1.3 to do the deactivation, the 1.3 installer won't install saying there is a newer version already on my computer, even though I have done the uninstallation with the 1.4 installer package.
Is there a way to completely remove traces of 1.4 and/or can I activate another way?

    Hi, guys.

I've got Joseph Beaty helping me with replying to your activation reset requests. This activation thing is entirely on our end for just those of you upgrading from 1.3 right now. Just keep them coming to support@bmtdps.com. We will have this relatively minor inconvenience resolved shortly. Once we've reset your account you should not have the problem again.

Another bug I found earlier was resolved in the most recent update. At one point, iTunes would crash when i was switching profiles, but this seems to have vanished with the most recent build. This is running on OS X Lion 10.7.1 with iTunes 10.4.1 running in 64 bit mode.

On another note, where should those of us who want t-shirts send the email? (sorry, i'm just extremely excited to get one of these. I feel honored to work with you guys. I will wear this shirt with pride). If you got my info already, just let me know.

Also, Joey, any news about the Mac System-Wide beta? I'm just wondering where we stand in relation to release right now.

Hi, I just bought it 30 mins ago. It works well, great. First of all thanks for your hard working.

However I find out that you don't have the Bowers & Wilkins headphone on the headphone choice list.
    Can you make one?
It's is one very popular and great headphone in UK. It sells in the UK Apple Store as well, and most
important, it is the only headphone I have...: )

Many thanks if you solve this. I do appreciate.
    and once more, nice work.

    Joey,

Back home today from another Nuke plant, just in time to open my personal email to find you had reset my activation, and it worked perfectly when I went to activate V1.4, thank you, thank you.......

This product is so superb and you realize it when you lose it for awhile, I as well as everyone else in the forum really appreciate all the hard work your team performed on this switchover of iTune's to 64 bit from 32 bit, not to mention the pressure you guys were under, anyway, thank you so much, it really is music to my ears again......

I can not say enough of the DPS Plugin and iTunes...... the difference is staggering to hear!

    Best money I ever spent!
