It looks like there is a bit of extra latency in the Phoenix, AZ area where our server lives. If anyone experiences any DPS Insider, profile delivery or activation delays this is why.

In case anyone cares here is some data on the subject: http://www.internettrafficreport.com/namerica.htm
This video clearly represents the complexity and baffling technological challenges presented as a result of this temporary deceleration of our digital lives: http://youtu.be/EtOoQFa5ug8
How reliable do you think those statistics are? The Canadian ISP's show a Current Index of zero and a packet loss of 100%. One of the links is to my ISP and it's never down. I have a high speed service which regularly gives me between 3 and 4 megabytes a second download speeds. Of course, the download speed depends a lot on the site which is providing the download. The most consistently fast download service I use is iTunes. I easlly get 4 MB per second.
Completely off topic but, speaking of iTunes, between my new Creative sound card and DPS on my computer, music on my iPod sounds flat by comparison. I listened to some music on it yesterday for the first time in ages and was very disappointed in its sound quality. I used to love it, but everything is relative. It's amazing how our "memory" for how things sound can be so subjective.
I hear you, Jim. You might have already mentioned it but is your iPod new enough to run our app? I've been testing the new version and Apple Lossless files sound ridiculous! Kind of like the video I linked-to above... :)
Hi Joey:
Unfortunately, I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch, although I wasn't aware of that until I downloaded the DPS app and tried to install it.:-(
Now I'm patiently waiting for a DPS chip-based external device which I asked about in another thread if and when it comes to market.
When you mentioned it last time I referred to a video where you can see it in prototype form. I will give more details when I'm allowed to!
Hi Joey:
Yes, I remember that and just played it again. If I understand it correctly, it's a combination of software and hardware. You asked how many channels there are. There appears to be about 80 circuits coming off the chip, but 80 channels doesn't seem to make sense, so it's probably 80 divided by some number. I'm not sure if I'm interpreting it correctly.
P.S. Love that sexy voice over!
I was referring to the analog 1/8" jacks. I'm going to ask the boss today if I just can't talk to the forum about it!
And that sexy voice is our good friend Ozzie Aziz: http://youtu.be/qUMW5yI1g4M
All the music in that video was created by Ozzie and myself around 2005. She is an awesome actress and model as well!
This song I wrote with Ozzie has always been my fave...Joey produced it...so good http://www.myspace.com/ozzieaziz1/music/songs/strange-endevour-11323298
Hi Joey:
Thanks for the Ozzie You Tube link. I read her web site bio and assume you are Joe Butera III? I didn't know there was a Bongiovi Records. There must be a lot of interesting musical history in your family.
Looking at the You Tube video again, I see 6 I/O channels.
I have a quiz for you. How many "typos" do you see in Ozzie's web site bio at http://www.ozzieaziz.com/ :)
Hi Joseph:
Thanks for the link to that song. It's excellent and sounds awesome on my Bose QC3 headphones using DPS with the Bose QC15 profile. Just wondering about the song title and assume the word Endevour is deliberately misspelled. Was it a copyright issue or something similar?
No I think it was just a goth thing to do. Very much the mind frame we were in when writing it. A lot of that genre does the cool instead of the grammatically correct thing. Ha.
Also, the site was created by someone who's first language is not English. Oh well!
I assume your first language is English, but of course, I could be wrong. Who's should be whose. :)
OK, that's enough criticism from me! Looking forward to more amazing DPS products.
I think the whole world could use a spelling and punctuation lesson. Haha. Myself included.
