OK, so here's the next question. I have bought this product. HOW do I integrate it so that I can use it with Airport Express?
I currently havve a Mac Mini with iTunes as the source and an Airport Express attached to the back of my receiver in my living room. How am I able to utilize the dsp plug in to transmit through airport express? Thank you for your time . . .

My first suggestion is to use an audio routing utility like Soundflower to route the output of iTunes to the Airport audio drivers. Here's the link: http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/
We will try this at our studio here at Bongiovi Acoustics asap to give clear and concise instructions for this!

Here is another piece of software to try: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/
Currently no iTunes audio plugins "officially" support streaming audio. But that doesn't mean that we can't trick iTunes into thinking that it is playing out of it's normal outputs. Let's see if we can get it to work!

Joey,
If you can shoot me an email address, I have some relevant information that may help us figure out how to do this. I can be reached at bmcquillian@gmail.com

Hi I'm john, and I'm new here. I've got myself a KDS-100 and love it to death. And i've got a question. Is there any chance that this plugin could be ported to another operating system *Cough* *Ubuntu* or in anyway a more general computer plugin, that wouldn't need itunes to work, I would assume that the same technology behind this can be used to route more than just itunes audio out. So I'm kind of just wondering if this will be something that could ever be more accessible than just macs with itunes.

Of course it can, and will be, ported! :-)
Obviously the next step is to have the DPS process all audio from any application on any given machine. We are walking before we run so to speak so iTunes on a mac came first. The DPS technology itself has already been ported to several hardware based systems as you have experienced with the KD-S100 as well as the iHome iP1 and just recently announced, headphones. Our goal is to have this technology available to everyone on any device they choose. The benefit to gaming and movie watching as well as music listening is huge, so anyplace that is happening, we want to be! And I recognize the benefit to a Linux port for all the HTPC folks out there. But you can also be sure that we will do it right.
Thanks!

I'd swear you read my mind! That is what I'd been waiting to hear ever since i heard about the itunes plug-in! And that's what my computer's main use is, a small HTPC, its currently a desktop with monitor and I'm actually using it right now, but still it gets its use of movies and music. I love that idea of having it on any computer anywhere, sounds like open source to me........ I just can't wait, and if you need help on a linux, more specifically Ubuntu port, let me know! I'm no good at code but any testing or anything let me know!
Thanks!!

If you are wondering about using the AirPort Express with the DPS plugin go here: http://www.dpsplugin.com/help/doku.php?id=airport_express or check out my last post in this form on the issue.

Its an amazing product. I liked it so much that as soon as the new Ihome hits a store in mexico i´m getting it to replace the Bose i have at home (Not very happy with it to be honest it distorts at high volume and it was very expensive).
I hope it can be available as an app for Iphone or Ipod Touch, even as extra hardware as the Iwow.
Thank You.

The plugin sounds great guys. I've been telling my buddies across the country to download and give it a listen.
Is there a reference for the different "Universal Headphone X" configurations (i.e. what's different between them)? What are the plans for additional headphone model support? I use Sennheiser HD280s and one of the universal settings sounds good, but I'm wondering if there's a way I can tweak it slightly or if you'll just be rolling out more headphone configs (I see there's one or two in the updater...) ?
Anyways - cheers on the product and I'll be watching you guys from here on out.

Here is a link to the "Universal Profile Key" that I posted a while ago:
http://www.dpsinsider.com/forums/topic/universal-profile-key
It is a good reference to get started with the profiles and in many cases these profiles would be just as good as a custom one for any given device. However, I believe we have Sennheiser headphones here at the studio! I'll create a custom profile for them and make it available in the "downloads" section of the Plug-In. I'll make a post here when it is ready.Posted 2 years ago #
