The last i heard was that you guys were striving to release the Beta Version on Jan 26th, I've been real eager to start testing the Beta System and see how it works. If you guys can put an update up or something so that we can know when its supposed to be out or the status on it, then that would be great. thanks :)
So... When is it coming out?

I was about to post the same question. I've also been very excited to test this.

Quite excited!! While understanding development and changing a site is tough. Excited but understanding here guys =] updates would be nice tho... maybe we can help??

I'm glad you guys understand! We are actually making changes to dpsplugin.com to support multiple product activations in our store. As soon as that process is complete and all of our current customers are in the new system (there will be a new version of the DPS iTunes plugin available soon to support these upgrades) the beta party will begin! The actual Windows beta version is working great and we are taking this extra time to tune it up even more before the big day. You will know about it first here!

It's ready, Folks!
Here is the link to the Beta Program info page: http://www.dpsplugin.com/help/doku.php?id=windows_beta_help
I suppose this is the midnight sneak-peek! I'll be adding more info to the help pages, cleaning up the install zips and making a formal announcement in the morning. If you want to stay up all night giving the DPS Plug-In for Windows a test drive, be my guest. Just don't wake the neighbors! :-D

I'M SO EXCITED!!!! I've been playing around with it for a little while now. and all I can say is WOW. Just like it is in my car but now on my computer. I can't thank you guys enough. I personally think this is ready for sale now.... if you know what I mean. I can't help bu want to ask. I know there was at one point a profile for the Logitech z - 2300's ... which are my speakers. The Nashville works very well, best out of what is there. But i can't help but think the specific would be even better =D So I was just wondering where that may have gotten to

Nice! I'm glad I wasn't the only one up all night messing with this :)
There IS a profile for the Logitech Z series. It just isn't available in the Windows version yet. I suggest trying the Creative Labs Inspire 2 profile or the Universal 6 profile under the Bongiovi Acoustics category in the Advanced Profile Browser. We want folks to get used to matching up what their device looks like to a similar profile. Let me know how this goes for you, Bobby and I'm open to suggestions as far as organizing the profiles in the browser.

that's great to hear! I'm going to assume that means that the rest of the custom profiles that were made are going to be made available eventually then... I'll give Universal 6 a Shot and I had tries The Creative and liked the Cities one for desktop with a sub better. The only thing that may work better for organization would be keeping the generic ones in a more easily identifiable place, or name. I was very confused at first what the cities were... So maybe a Specific Tab -> then the custom ones and a Generic -> with the cities or something. Just so its more intuitive at first.
And as a personal side note, I was wondering if you knew if this would work under WINE in Linux. I know the beta is just out, but I figured I'd ask. (or even better if there's a secret working Linux build somewhere.... =] )
Keep up the fantastic work

I just tried out Universal 6, and in my opinion it blows away the Nashville profile for the logitech z series. The improved clarity and fullness was impressive, but there was some crackling ... and distortion but that aside its great! I also noticed that the volume boost button on universal 6 seems to be causing the distortion... but i'm not positive...

Norton is Blocking and Removing the DPS Setup.exe file. Is this an issue you guys are tracking?

Thanks guys. I've added the Norton issue to the FAQ page.
As far as crackling goes I suggest turning the computer's output volume (not the Logitech system) down slightly as well as un-checking the Volume Boost. I checked my notes and it turns out Universal 6 (which we use for testing purposes now) is actually based on the Logitech z series profile!
Also, the Volume Level Boost can cause distortion. We want to get feedback as to who felt they needed the button and who did not. The current profiles are set so there is no distortion for very loud music without the boost. However that can make things a bit too quiet for laptops or other devices. That's why we need some input from you guys about this feature.

I agree with that, for my real speakers its not necessary at all, it just makes it sound a tiny bit clearer at very low volume, and improves the bass significantly at that low volume. On my laptop though it is something that should defiantly be turned on, its pretty quite without it, my earbuds could go either way. I don't listen exceptionally loud with them.
And I didn't see any place for downloading more profiles, is this something that will be coming in a later beta?
And for anyone wondering, the plugin does not work under WINE in Linux.

The "Advanced Profile Browser" is where all new profiles will be made available. Just click the button and the list will populate with profiles currently available on our server. More will be added as we move through beta.
Are you part of the WINE project? It would be really cool to see support for the DPS Plug-In under WINE. However, since there is an audio driver involved I'm sure this would not be a small undertaking.

I'm not part of WINE, i'm not really much of a developer at all really, I know my way around a computer very very well, but anything other than basic coding is above me. I do know that WINE has various audio drivers to choose from, and depending on that it could be possible to leverage that to work with the dps. But because the dps would not be native to the rest of the OS, i'm not sure if it would process sound that was coming from anywhere other than other WINE apps. If that makes sense.
