Absolutely love this software... I just recently purchased these speakers: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Computer speakers and was wondering about getting a profile for these.
Thanks so much

As I mentioned in a different thread, a lot of these 2.1 systems share many similar acoustic characteristics. Try the Creative Labs Inspire 2.1 profile or one of the Logitech profiles and let me know what you think. Every time I tune a 2.1 system lately it seems that those profiles always work!

i tried all 3 of them out.... they don't sound too right. if you could still look into it, that would be great.

I use a dock connected to my Pro Media system and I like to use the Anapolis profile. There's too much bass on the Pro Media, I had to keep the bass zeroed out. This gives me room for adjusting to what I want to hear.

Ok, good to know. I can create a version of Annapolis that has less bass. Are the mids and highs ok?

Here is a profile to test on your iOS device with the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 setup: http://avalonrecords.com/Pub/Klipsch%20Pro%20Media%20TEST1.bgv
Keep in mind that bass is meant to be controlled by adjusting the volume of the subwoofer against the volume of the desktop speakers. Let me know how this one sounds for you!

The Annapolis really really improved my PM's. It's a wife irritant - "turn that damn bass down" - Now I can have it loud enough to hear without vibrating her out of the kitchen. Before it was zero bass, and just about the same for my enjoyment level.
It wasn't until a few days ago that I discovered all the profiles floating around here to play with. I peeked around for instructions, but I am going to assume that the profiles come over during sync much the same as Numbers spreadsheets syncing works. When it comes to syncing my pod, as soon as the wife sees me getting cables and booting the laptop, she manages to come up with an entire list of crap that (she thinks) is far more important... (If there's a quicker easier way, let me know!) As soon as I get your experiment in there, I'll give you a full report. Right at this second, I'm at work, and Memphis is driving my Klipsch SXT dock. Seems to me a much wider field than without dps.
I can't rant enough about your app / plugin. It's a breath of new life in my iPod, my speaker docks, all my headphones, but most of all, my music sounds better. Thank you geniuses!

lol! My wife has the same list whenever I sit down at my computer too! Here is the instruction page for iOS profiles: http://help.dpsplugin.com/wiki/doku.php?id=ios_profile_update
It's pretty fast since you don't have to actually click "Sync". We hope to have an online profile browser (like the DPS Plug-In) in the iOs app soon. We are tackling the functional issues first.

Joey,
You're my new hero - Man that is just so sweet on the ears! I can't thank you enough, especially when I started switching back and forth between anapolis and this test profile, I think you hit the sweet spot dead on.
I am having so much fun. Hearing vocals so much clearer now, I've been singing the wrong lyrics for decades : D

Great! We now have a new custom profile generated by remote control. I'll make it available to the rest of the world this week. Let's make some more this way folks!

Anyone else using the Klipsch 5si earbuds? I like them because they fit, sound nearly as good as their top of the line, which broke, as did two sets of flimsy 4si buds. I live in them, driving, eating, walking, sleeping. Anyone have a setting they like? Or I could loan Joey a pair to analyse....just tell me where to sen them.
I know they don't have remotely near a flat response; I am guessing the highs are boosted or everything else is curved down. Gently, but curved.
I'm frustrated when I listen to Audible books, which definitely need some kind of audio help even in their higher quality format because they're locked out of the iPhone plugin for licensing reasons; I know how to get around the music files that are still protected simply by writing them to a CD and re-ripping at a decent kbps even tho you can't improve them by upping the kbps. But although you can do the same thing with Audible books, it's an unending nightmare of CDs!! I'm listening to Haruki Murakami's new 1Q84, which, if you know it, is a collection of 5 segments each lasting at least 8 hrs each (hey I like to listen to good books!!).
Finally, did I read somewhere in the forum that one can rip new CDs with the DPS plugin improvement actually written into the new CD? If so, can someone point me to it? I'd like the whole house to benefit from your software. I am guessing it'll be easy with a gold release on the OS wide version, but one can tap one's toes patiently for so long before thinking about workarounds, right? :--{b }} (beard needs trim in ascii)
But the sound is pretty bad. Can you think of a quicker way with other software that will convert the .aax files to AIFFs or lossless format? Someone else in this forum has to be old enough to remember enjoying reading?
Was that an echo I just heard?

There is a way to do this. It's totally convoluted but it does work (Mac instructions):
1) Download and install Sound Flower: http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/
2) Download and install Audacity 1.3 (the beta works fine): http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_mac
Install the LAME mp3 encoder as well so you may save your files as mp3.
3) Set Sound Flower to be your default output device in Sound Preferences.
4) Launch Audacity and set the input device to be Sound Flower and the Output device to be the Built-In speakers.
5) Click the microphone icon in Audacity to begin monitoring. Audio is now routed from all applications to Sound Flower to Audacity then to your speakers.
6) Launch iTunes. Play some music to be sure your routing is working. You should see the red meters in Audacity moving.
6) Use the DPS iTunes plugin to choose a profile you want to apply to your audio. Be sure it sounds good on the devices you will be using. There are a few City profiles available that are great for spoken word on all devices.
7) Click record in Audacity then play the track you want to process in iTunes. The output of iTunes (including the DPS process) will be recorded into Audacity.
8) Normalize the volume of your recording in Audacity if necessary. DPS adds dynamic range to the audio signal so the resulting file may be a little quieter than the original.
9) Save your newly processed file and add it to your iTunes library.Done!
This process must happen in real time so you have just listened to your whole book lol! However, this can be great for mastering a recording, an interview or a podcast you produced or anything else.
This would make a great tutorial video don't you think?
