Is there any way to auto-update the DPS plugin?
If not how do I find out about new releases as soon as they come out?

We don't have an auto-updater yet but it is easy to be notified of the latest releases of the beta. Just subscribe to the "New Beta Build" RSS feed. Here is the link...

Of course! I should have paid attention to the forum you put the message in. The link to the iTunes Plug-In RSS feed is http://www.dpsinsider.com/forums/rss/forum/dps-plug-in-for-itunes-mac
You will find the RSS link to any forum category at the bottom of that category's page.
Just so you know, we will be releasing a new (and very important) update to DPS for iTunes this week. Stay tuned!
