Apple 24" iMac profile and the Apple 24" Cinema display.

My MPB is attached to the new Apple 24" Cinema Display and there is no profile specifically for it. I tried using the 24" iMac profile but honestly the mids are being pushed too far and even getting some distortion in the music.

For now I am using "desktop universal 3" seems to sound the best of the choices. Be nice to get a nicely tuned profile for the 24" CD though.

You guys have done some great work with this plugin and I thank you for making headphone and computer monitor music jamming more livable!

We will get on that right away! We want to have a custom profile for all Apple products. In the meantime try Universal 6 for your Cinema Display. Just go to the "downloads" tab in the preferences menu. Click "check for updates" and look for it at the bottom of the list. Let me know how it sounds on your monitor!

Sounds better than 3...mids (vocals) are a little hot though. Highs in Uni6 are tad crushed. I like the highs in Uni1 if they were just a little less bright.

For some kind of reference of how I listen to music...I generally go flat with a bump in the bottom end. Usually 120hz on down up +4db. This is true of my home and car systems which sound very good even if left "flat". Depending on content I *might* bump everything 12.5hz on up +2db...but it's rare. I'm also 36 years old and taken very good care of my ears. (okay this is sounding akward now, lol)

hehehe! Thanks for the input. Nothing really beats a custom profile. We look for a "sweet spot" for all of the devices we tune and it is always different for every device. The good thing about the DPS is that it is adaptive to the program material and once an "ideal" is reached it translates to all styles of music or movies respectively. I'm hoping we can get the Cinema Display tuned for you quickly!

Due to a medical reasons we could not get to making this profile this past week. We did have it scheduled.

Hopefully this week we will be able to reschedule. Sorry for the delay.

Thanks to Phil and our friends at http://www.tekserve.com/ we now have the 24" Cinema Display profile available! Check your "downloads" menu in the DPS Plug-In preferences. Also, be sure the iTunes eq is "off" when you use the DPS Plug-In.

The 24" CD profile sounds EPIC!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

(there is some subtle clipping in the mids I've noticed, but it's not too bothersome, still sounds tons better than stock)

One thing we do recommend is to keep the volume slider in iTunes at the 80% mark. Here is a link to the help topic: http://www.dpsplugin.com/help/doku.php?id=setting_the_volume_in_itunes

What songs/musical instruments seem to clip in the mids? If the iTunes volume doesn't help perhaps an adjustment could be made to the profile.

The 80% trick worked. Thanks for the tip. I was listening to "Godspeed You Black Emperor!" When it was clipping out. Along with some John Murphy scores from "Sunshine".
