Joey - Yes, you do have a good point. It would be great though if there was a way to keep it off of pirate bay altogether. I'm a developer myself so it bothers me when people put full versions out there for everyone (unless there is no trial at all, then I can understand).

Anyway, can't wait for the next beta or for the final release! Keep up the great work!

The best way to contact a person is click their forum status beneath their name (for example "Member") to bring up their profile. There you will find their email address. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves ;)

Your are right, KimR and macphreak, that everyone will want the full version when it is ready. However, I imagine some low grade hackers will grab at the low hanging fruit for a bit of cred. I'd rather see a final release slathered all over Pirate Bay than something half done.

KimR - I would love to get the hack that you are talking about. Listening to music is just not the same without DPS!

I don't want to take away anything from the developers here though and will definitely be supporting this plugin once it's available. But, until then, would you mind to send it to me at swhitlow@gmail.com? I tried to look for a way to PM you but couldn't find a way to do it.

Also, to the DPS devs - don't worry about a small hack to extend software that is just a beta. When the full version comes out everybody will be wanting that one and not the old beta version anyway. :)

Keep up the great work guys!

Jeez! Way to post a hack on a dev's on forum lol! I appreciate your tenacity however I'd like for this to stay amongst our friends here. The post will come down but if you want to discuss via private email to DPS Insider members I can't stop you. I'm sure you understand we don't want unfinished work circulating out there in the world without protection.

That being said, I'm happy to report we've moved past the audio issues and are back into overall app development. I'm excited that you guys are so enthusiastic about Mac SW and I can't wait to see this thing come to fruition!

On a another posting, Joey B indicated that based on current development and enhancements, they basically went back to alpha stage in the software for Mac SW, so based on his comment/posting, we may or may not be testing in the future, at least its still in development and be a viable option to use, when its released?

Hi guys! Glad to hear no big issues. We ran into a bit of a delay releasing new beta builds as we are implementing a new feature that needs further alpha testing. The next build will be in dmg format to avoid the errors reported above.

Today I finally got around to install 1.009 and I've tried to install 7 times with 2 different zip files in case there was a corrupted zip file. I used the uninstaller first to clear the older version and then attempted to install 1.009.

It says Installation failed. There were errors with the installation. If there is a log file I can look at on how to troubleshoot this then please let me know, but I think this version may be dead for my computer.

I am sure I will not be the only person who encounters this anomaly, be prepared to provide an answer when asked, I am sure others as well as I will be frustrated when trying to install, even I could not recall how I did the previous builds?
Knowing my rapidly depleting senior brain cells going their own way and having a senior moment every now and then, otherwise known as "CRS".......... I definitely can almost guarantee others will have a problem when using winzip?

This is because Winzip does not recognize the .pkg file the way osx does. A pkg file is really just a folder osx recognizes as an installer and will not normally let you open. If you have Apple dev tools installed you can see this. You should just use the standard osx unzipper and 7zip for everything else. Winzip will cause these issues on osx and may also not handle permissions properly.

I'll make a note to our programmer that DPS does not start actives upon boot. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Success...... I opened "finder" and chose "open with" for the zip file and chose zip archive, and then it created a folder within downloads and within it contained a folder and and the installer pkg, double clicked the installer pkg file and it installed and now can be viewed once again on my menu bar and I have a folder within my applications folder titled "Digital Power Station" containing the uninstaller, the actual Digital Power Station App a file called DPS Preferences.inetloc

Whew what a pain...... hopefully things will be better soon with the actual software launch coming out of beta and the ease of downloading a dmg package for installation?

Thanks for the assistance!

Hope this escapade helps others having install problems who also are using the winzip application?

bnmguy.

Thanks for the reply, I have winzip so maybe that's an issue with the zip file, although I can't imagine that as I previously had no problems or issues?

So on your advice, I ran the uninstaller, and its worked as it stated, then ran the Digital Power Station 1.009.pkg, now with winzip running I right click on that file and select open to initiate the installer, anyway, it ran, but once again I have no icon to execute running the program, there is nothing in my applications folder to start it?

Should I be moving the folders within the winziped file somewhere? I have the file in my downloads folder and run it from there, the actual winzip file contains a couple of additional folders, _MACOSX and one labeled Digital Power Station 1.009.pkg and one the uninstaller file?

I have a feeling I should be moving these folders somewhere?

I appreciate your assistance, but I'm still dead in the water, I have run the uninstaller and sit with no MACSW beta now?

Any additional help would be appreciated by you or anyone else........
