Hmmmm nifty idea. What you describe seems fairly specific to your setup but perhaps we can use some of the build in OSX features to automate the behavior of DPS. I'm thinking of perhaps using the app URL feature (like the DPS Preferences.inetloc file currently does) to switch modes, turn DPS on/off and toggle music/movies. It would then be quite easy to build an Automator script that launches your app, switches DPS and anything else at the press of a button.

I would love to have an option the allowed DPS to turn on and off depending on if programs are open and to swap content if a given app is the front one. This would greatly reduce CPU use. Sometimes DPS seems to use about 8-10% when nothing is running. There must be some sound causing it but...
In my case I have a media player (MPlayerExtended) that when front I want DPS to be in Movie mode and enabled. For iTunes if it is playing (not nesc front) I want it be in Music mode and enabled.
Otherwise I want it disabled.

Maybe a couple of options. 2 boxes with 2 options. 1 Box for activate music, 1 Box for activate movie. Within that the ability to add applications and then choose either front or all the time to cause activation. That would mean only checking the current apps status not specifics like is iTunes playing, although that might be a nice addition.

There has been talk of making the tone control into two bands of our mastering grade fully parametric eq. That would give you the ability to dial in just about anything you want! Let's see how that shakes out.

Also, I would like to see Dr. Dre In-ear Headphones profile be added. The Dr. Beats profiles are not exact at all, plus, the iTunes DPS Plugin lacks this profile as well. At least I would like to see this profile be implemented into this version of the DPS Plugin.

I would like to see an eq (not like the current basic one) like the iTunes built in eq. Maybe some presents like RnB, Pop, Dance, Hip-Hop, Rock, etc.

I'm adding feature requests from other topics: lordsod -

please make the system wide plugin a System Preferences pane. I want the great sound but i don't want another ugly icon (No offense!) in my menubar. A Profile Shortcut and Growl Support (Which Profile or "Content Profile" got activated) would be nice too.

That makes sense. I would also add a reset button.

I'd like to see a profile for the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system. I'm using Miami right now and it's fairly close, but the upper mids are a little to high. Also, for the bass and treble sliders in the customization menu, it would be nice to be able to adjust those for each headphone, desktop, and built-in and have it remember settings for each.
