What I’m thinking is a small device, which might plug into a USB port and could be programmed by a computer to handle profiles, etc. Simplistically, it would plug into the headphone output of any player and then connect to a pair of head phones. On a larger scale, presumably a box with DPS built-in could have more sophisticated controls and outputs for more demanding applications. Obviously, I have no idea what the economics of producing something like this would be, but I would be willing to pay for such a product, assuming it doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars. Part of my thinking is such a product might get Bongiovi to move away from programming DPS for the myriad of operating systems it has to support for different computers and handhelds. I would think an external device could provide a much more consistent level of performance and, one hopes, get rid of problems like audio drop outs. </p>
