Alright!!! "Talking walls...here we come!" Hey, anyone remember the table-top transducer? So, I can imagine new profiles coming... named after trees? Anyone for Mahogany, White Oak, Knotty Pine, or Walnut? We'll also need "Plywood" and "Formica" ... Formica? is that a tree??? Oh, we're gonna have so much fun!!! ;-)

Yes indeed, Very Excited!!! I'm throwing funny ideas for Will It Tune to be funny but serious at the same time. Kinda like, remember as a middle school or high school aged kid, did you ever "flick" your cheek to make that "drip" sound???? How about holding a transducer on your cheek to see how loud the DPS can process that sound???

Okay I admit there's not a whole lot to gain by this, but probably pretty funny to watch one of us experiment with it!!!

I thought of this from a discussion I had about DPS in the medical realm. If the DPS could isolate the gurgling sounds of my stomach so that a doctor could really zone in on a breathing issue in my lung, and focus on the sounds to help with a diagnosis, well this is really cool!!! So not being a doctor, the throat drip is the next best thing!!!

Now combine that with the iHome wireless Airplay hiding under the sink in the kitchen and the DPS App from Apples App store - Now we can really screw with someone's head!!!!!

Okay - time to get back to work!!! LOL!

HaHa, I came across that "Will It Blend" thing a while back. It's funny, but once you seen them blend one object, well everything else just follows the same suit. Personally I liked the idea of "Will it Tune" because unlike blending a golf club or a telephone in a super-duty blender, making things "tune" and produce sound like a speaker is something we can actually use! I'd love to see my office desk get tuned!!! But the coolest part is that just as crazy objects get tuned and become essentially a "speaker," the DPS can tune anything I normally listen to as well. So if cardboard boxes can sound like decent speakers using DPS, THEN MAKE MY FLAT PANEL TV SPEAKERS SOUND BETTER!!! Oh wait, "There's a profile for that!!!!" Hey- maybe steal that phrase, "There's an App for That" and use it for DPS like, "There's a Profile for That!!!!" or better yet, since the "City" profiles are soooooo diverse, how 'bout, "There's a City for that!!!" Okay, maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself. But anyway I'm looking to what the next episode of "Will It Tune" will be tuning! Hey how 'bout making that damn singing "Billy Bass" that we get tortured with each holiday season sound halfway decent. While you're at it - MAKE IT SING SOMETHING COOL!!!!! Rock On!

Heloooooo, DPS denizens!

We have a new web series coming soon called Will It Tune?

Here is a link to the teaser: http://youtu.be/l1Ve3QoWn8E

The DPS Insider will be where we share our comments and creations inspired by the Will It Tune series. We want to spark a bit of creativity in all of you by using DPS to turn weird objects into great sounding audio systems. I foresee a contest in the future... Stay tuned!

Just noticed an apparent navigation issue on iOS app 1.0.2. From the current song screen, the button in the lower right corner (looks like a list) only takes me back to the track list *IF* the track list was the last screen I looked at. Otherwise, it takes you to whatever other screen you were on. So, unexpectedly, the "list" button is acting like a "BACK" button rather than taking me to the track list which is the context for the current song.

So, TO DEMONSTRATE... pick an album, pick a track, and play it. The screen switches to the current song control screen with sliders, blue (B) button, and other controls. If you touch the lower right button (track list) it flips back to tracks, and touching the "note" in the lower right takes you back to the current song controls. However... if you touch the upper left button (the icon array) and flip to the "Bongiovi DPS" home screen, then touch the "note" in the lower right to go back to the song controls, then touch the "list" button in the lower right... SURPRISE!... it unexpectedly flips back to the home screen (icon array) rather than the track list which is the current context for the song that is playing. And, if from the home screen you had touched, say, the Albums icon, and then flipped back to the current song (touching the "note" button)...then from the song controls screen if you now touch the "list" button... SURPRISE!... it takes you back to the Albums screen. And so on.

My hunch is this: That the list button got hooked up to a "back" function, rather than the function to switch (always) to the track list screen.

One other minor annoyance: Upon switching to the track list, while a song is playing or paused, there doesn't seem to be a cursor or highlight on the current track (would expect the blue background stripe as shown when a song was selected).

Hope this helps! Keep up the great development work, and "Press ON!" ;-)

How does the app process when sound is routed thru Airplay to an external speaker? On iPad2, I could hear the difference when it is on and off, when it is streaming sound thru airplay but couldn't really figure out which profile was actually processing it. Is it the speaker or the dock profile?

The answer is yes! And 1.0.2 is now in the app store (you may need to give it a day for it to show up as an update on your device).

Update notes:

When updating to a newer version current profiles were being de-selected. This is fixed.

When browsing by artist, an album will play in order of the track listing instead of alphabetically.

The video bug has been fixed.

There are 5 new City Profiles. All 10 City profiles show up in Headphone and Line Out (dock) categories.

You may now add new profiles to your device via iTunes document sharing. We will be providing our latest iOS profiles as free downloads via this link shortly: http://www.bongioviacoustics.com/products-ios.php
When a profile is added to your device it will show up in all categories. I will do a tutorial video on this when we make the new profiles available.

Remember: If you have already paid for an in-app purchase, just do the upgrade again and it will be free.

Known Issue: We have identified a problem with playback using the Apple lossless format. This will be fixed in the next update.

Just found this post and got the app on both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 3GS! Sounds great. Suggestion: add some generic profiles like the iTunes plugin has. I found they help to adapt to cheaper speakers.

Question: I bought the upgrade on my iPad. Is there a way to transfer that upgrade to my iPhone, or do I need to pay for the upgrade twice?

Thanks for the continued development of the DPS for new devices and OS X versions. Can't wait for the new Mac version!

diego018 - The iPhone 3g simply does not have the processing power to run our app. Even with the code being ultra efficient the Digital Power Station technology needs a decent amount of horsepower to run properly. Another limitation of the 3g is it's lack of multitasking which is essential for the proper operation of our app.

Little Angel - Sometimes these odd glitches happen when the iPod player is open in the background while using the Bongiovi DPS app. We always suggest quitting any non essential apps as well a clean re-boot when trouble arises.

Currently the DPS app does not count plays or update Smart Playlists. I will get more details shortly to see if this is even possible within Apples restrictions. I know all apps that access the internal library must create their own new playlists. There is certainly a layer of complexity here.

As for the 3gs, we recommend quitting other apps while using DPS. Depending on what is going on in the background it is certainly possible to run out of processing power on this device and get stuttering. Following some standard fixes like re-booting the phone and killing un-necessary apps should do the trick.

I know there are plenty of tweaks in the works and we are watching your feedback closely. Keep it coming...this baby is brand new!

Does the iOS app also counts the play count for in iTunes like the original iPod app does?

EDIT: FYI, I also let my sister instal it on her 3GS and all she gets it stuttering. It 'feels' like the app does require more processing power than the/her 3GS can deliver.

Other than the apple in-ears that i never use i dont have any of the headphones profiled in the app.
I do like the Apple profile though, even with my Koss PortaPro's.

I would love to see a profile for these and my Sens 215's.

Ive found another bug. If you pull the headphones out while a track is playing, the play icon doesn't change to pause. Going back to the app it will show that its playing although its not. It works ok, its just that the icon seems to get stuck.

Dave.

Is it me or is the Beats by dr Dre headpones profile wrong. Too much treble, too less bass. Tried several hip hop songs on my iPhone 4, but disabling it gives a better sound?
