Hey Joey,
Yes! Thank you for that post. I sent you folks two emails via the support. I had already registered and couldn't activate because the 'account' already exists. Just now registered with this forum and you showed me the way...

Sweet music is now playing.

This is really great. Thanks. You can disregard the support emails, all is well now.

Sorry for the confusion there! Here are the steps in a clear order for everyone:

1) Buy your code from Maczot
2) Visit http://www.dpsplugin.com/coupon
3) Create an account and remember the email and password you use there. This is what you will use to activate the DPS Plug-In. If you already have an account with us (you will get the "the email already is in use" error) just login to http://www.dpsplugin.com then visit http://www.dpsplugin.com/coupon.
4) Enter your code.
5) Download and install the DPS Plug-In for iTunes.
6) Activate the DPS Plug-In by entering your email and password into the Registration window of the plugin.
7) Click "Activate".

You may view your account by logging into http://www.dpsplugin.com at any time.

Hope this helps!

Hi. I just purchased the iTunes DPS Plug-In from Maczot and I love it but I can't activate it. Every time I put in my email address and serial number (after getting the coupon) a screen pops up to tell me that my registration is invalid and that I made a mistake in either my email address or serial number. I double-checked the number and made sure it was it was in the proper case. Please help!

Since it is an iTunes plugin it lives in the system folders. It is not a stand alone application. The profiles are in Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Bongiovi Acoustics. The plugin itself is in HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/HAL.

Our activations licenses will actually continue to stay the same price at $29.99 (along with coupon codes and volume discounts). Activation licenses you currently own will allow you to activate any of the aforementioned new products on your computer of choice. As you may know it is easy to manage your account by logging into http://www.dpsplugin.com There you can see what computers you have activated so deactivating a computer to free up a license is simple.

In short, those of you who are currently using the DPS Plug-In for iTunes (mac) will not pay a penny to upgrade!

P.S. There is already a profile for the Z series Logitech speaker systems! It rocks!

That's Awesome! I'm not sure what you'd be able to say about a price point for the windows version yet but i am very excited for it. I was also wondering if you are working on or even still have a linux version planned... just wondering. and a profile for the Logitech Speaker System Z323 would be wonderfully amazing. for when i do buy the windows version.

Well, I did find out that we are currently developing for iOS. I can't really say much more about it but I can say jailbreaking won't be necessary to enjoy DPS in the application(s) involved.

Also, while I'm feeding the rumors here are a few other tender morsels:

1) The DPS for Windows is now being tested. And it is NOT an iTunes plugin! It will work on all audio for your PC.
2) A full-system audio DPS for mac is also in testing.
3) You will be able to create/edit profiles in the future

That's it for now!

"Have you considered making a DPS Plugin for the jailbroken iPhone community? You guys would no doubt get tons of sales with your AMAZING software and with the Jailbroken App Stores, Rock Your Phone and Cydia, you could sell it for whatever price you desired. It's believed that about 1/10th of iPhone users' devices are jailbroken. I can tell you out of my immediate family and closest friends, all of our iPhones are jailbroken and all of us would be more than willing to pay 10-20 bucks for an iPhone DPS Plugin. I own the IP1 and as soon as the PC iTunes DPS Plugin is released, I'll be purchasing it! Just consider broadening your horizons beyond the Apple App Store please =)"

"5) Can I use the DPS Plug-In on my iPhone, iTouch or iPad?

Unfortunately Apple will not allow developers to process the audio stream from iTunes on the iPhone or its other mobile devices. We know the DPS would be a killer app for the iPhone! Maybe if they get enough feedback about this they will change their mind? *hint hint*"

Hello all,
I've created a profile for Logitech desktop 2.1 systems. The profile sounds excellent on so many different models of 2.1 systems (two small speakers on your desk with a subwoofer box on the floor) that I'm considering the creation of a new "universal" profile for these types of systems. That's too many universal profiles! So we will be moving away from the "universal profile" wording in favor of a system that makes it easier for our users to choose a profile that works best for them.
Look forward to a better labeling and organization system for profiles that sound great on many different variations of a certain type of audio system. We will be incorporating the type of device into the name (small desktop speakers, closed ear headphones, travel speakers etc.) as well as an emotional description for different variations of that profile.
Don't worry folks, we will still be creating custom profiles for devices but we hope the new system will get our users up and running quickly with excellent sound if a custom profile is not available for their device.
I will keep everyone up to date as we proceed with these updates and look forward to hearing your feedback!
Joe

You make a lot of really good points, Simon!

So far there has yet to be an audio device we have not been able to improve with the DPS Technology. It's funny that most of the requests we receive for custom profiles are the high end devices! The Shure SE530's are a good example. Those earbuds really do sound amazing and by finding their resonant frequency we were able to clean them up nicely. However, the DPS really shines at taking a modestly priced audio device up to the level that these high end devices perform. The Skull Candy and JVC headphones, the iHome Capsule Speakers and the Apple earbuds show an AMAZING improvement with the DPS Plug-In. Our thinking was with an inexpensive plugin and inexpensive speakers a user can still have great sound.
Folks like yourselves (and Charlie at http://www.themacfeed.com who requested the SE530 profile) put us to the test with the high end requests, but hey, we'll take the challenge! Our only issue is getting a hold on some of these more exotic devices as we do most of the profile creation by ear and it can get expensive quickly if we have to buy them ourselves.

Don't worry about us creating profiles though! I'm a studio guy (and a drummer) and the other engineers who create profiles are also studio guys like yourself who love doing this. Our application developers have their hands full and they are the ones working on the next release. The audio engineers here work on usability and SOUND!

As far as a dev kit goes, I'd love to see it. But all of our software is proprietary and fairly complex so it's not in the cards at the moment. Doesn't mean it can't happen though ;)

In the mean time, I'll see if we can get our hands on some Grado's...

cheers,
Joe

Ok everyone! Click "Check for Updates" in your Downloads panel. The Companion II profile is now available. This one took me a while as Bose has their own signal processing going on in most of their newer speaker devices. That means we have to figure out how to make our tech work with their tech. Since they have heavy gain compensation built into this speaker set I had to change tactics a little and find what I could improve without having their signal processing undo what I did (if that makes any sense!). In short, I was able to find a resonant frequency in the speaker box at about 560Hz. That means the speaker does not need to work as hard at that frequency. By re-distributing the power around that frequency there is and increase in clarity for the low-mids and vocal frequencies. I was also able to make a nice improvement in the "Movies" setting to bring out sound effects and subtleties in the music score. Enjoy!

Once again, the Bose Companion II series is an extremely popular speaker set for relatively short money. So, I do hope that development occurs within a reasonable time frame.

Hi! I purchased the iTunes plug-in, after trying it out with my Shure SR530s, very impressive stuff to say the least. I'm quite curious as to how (in detail, being a software engineer and musician) this technology works, i'm guessing you don't want to disclose that sort of information, fair enough. However, I also own a pair a Grado RS1s open-rear full-size headphones, and i'm sure a custom profile could help them gain some soundstage since none of the available ones target hardware remotely similar to these cans. I'm guessing that this profile would fit the RS2s larger brother, the RS1s, quite well, since they sound very alike on every single rig i've tries them on. Anyhow, congrats on this release, and you should in my opinion release a development kit of sorts so people like me could write their own profiles, and even share them with the world, so you guys could work on making a awesome new release instead of building dozens of profiles targeting only very few customers.

Cheers.

You make a very good point there, ajoyce! Until a device-specific profile is available I encourage all of our users to try all kinds of different profiles with their devices...and share the results here. It is a great help to everyone who is looking for the best sound.

I use the Bose QC3 on-ear earphones, with the noise cancellation feature. I selected the "Bright Headphones with NC" option and there was definitely a difference and I liked it. I tried the "Bose around ear" selection but liked the "Bright . . ." option better. I just want to get the "best" sound I can and to have a profile specific to my equipment is always great, although I realize that this can be a very very subjective thing and even a very personalized thing because of problems some folks may have with their ears.
